John is an accomplished executive who is making a personal transition from the private sector to focus on sustainability in the nonprofit world. His personal mission is to leverage a thirty year career in sales, marketing and executive leadership, to bring value to ATOU.

John is specifically focused on assisting with the challenges of fund development in a difficult economy. To that end, John recently completed a master’s degree in organizational leadership with a master’s certificate in nonprofit and public leadership at Chapman University. He was also the recipient of the Presidents Volunteer Service Award for volunteer service to local agencies during 2009. More recently John completed an independent consulting assignment, assisting the ATOU board with their strategic planning efforts. This project was funded by a grant from a local Community Foundation and coordinated in partnership with the Sacramento Nonprofit Resource Center.

John previously worked in executive sales, marketing and business development roles in mission-critical technology environments requiring long-term, consultative sales campaigns. He culminated  a fourteen year tenure at a Fortune 1000 company as Vice President and General Manager of a strategic business unit managing their operations throughout Asia Pacific and Latin America. John previously received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from University of Notre Dame de Namur.
