A Touch of Understanding is proud of the K-9 volunteers that work with us and their owners. Each dog has its own distinct personality and adds that special touch to their participation. Magy was one of the first ATOU Dog Volunteers and works with her dad, Mike Penketh. Everyone loves Magy because at the end of every presentation she demands that she gets lots of petting and hugs from the students. Magy is actually retired as a service dog, but continues to come to the schools for her extra hugs and pets. Now joining the Penketh family is Joyce. She loves to attend the ATOU presentations, but as hard as she trys, she cannot replace our original Magy.. who paved the way to the kids (and adults) hearts!
Lena Contreras is always acompanied by Adin, a beautiful yellow lab Guide Dog for the Blind. Adin is so gentle and loves being with the students... also showing off his amazing talents he uses with Lena. Lena and Adin live in an apartment in Davis together. |
